Hycast® Casthouse Technology – Drain Free Filtration

The DFF system is an inline Drain Free Filter system for mechanical filtration of liquid Aluminium. The Hycast DFF allows for high removal efficiency of inclusions compared to standard CFF systems by enabling the use of higher density filter plates. Reduced operating and remelt costs are possible due to complete draining of the filter box after operation. The unit utilizes standard dimensions of ceramic foam filter plates and can be supplied with single or double filter chamber.

  • Drain free unit (no metal left in filter box after operation) -> no need for remelting of drain metal
  • Electrical heating system with hot air
  • Under pressure is used for priming of the filter plate (high launders not necessary)
