Hycast is now officially certified to train apprentices in logistics, strengthening both our team and the local business community in Nordmøre. A part of the Hydro family since 1990, Hycast provides world-class casting technology to a global market. Our new status as a certified apprenticeship company is a mark of quality, proving we possess the necessary expertise and infrastructure. Managing Director Ola Ulvlund emphasizes that precision is essential in both technology and logistics, offering apprentices a unique gateway to a global industry.
As we enter 2026, Hycast continues its steady course with the same uncompromising precision. This year, however, we have an extra reason to be proud: We are now officially a certified training establishment in the field of logistics.
We approach 2026 with the same dedication to excellence that has defined us for decades. Since 1990, we have been a spearhead within the Hydro family. From our headquarters, nestled between the majestic mountains of Sunndalsøra, Norway, we deliver world-class casting technology to customers across the globe.
To ship advanced, automated casting lines to international markets, we need more than just brilliant engineering; we depend on precision in every link of the logistics chain.
An investment in local expertise
Being approved as a certified training establishment (godkjent lærebedrift) by Møre og Romsdal Fylkeskommune is a badge of honor. It serves as documentation that we provide the high-level expertise, equipment, and professional environment required to guide an apprentice from their first day to a completed trade certificate.
For Hycast, this is about more than recruitment; it is about our corporate social responsibility. By welcoming logistics apprentices, we ensure that invaluable industry knowledge is passed on to a new generation while simultaneously strengthening the local industry in our region.
- Precision is the backbone of everything we do, whether it’s our LPC casting technology or how we manage the flow of goods in and out of Sunndalsøra. Being a certified training establishment in logistics means we can offer young talents a unique gateway to a global industry. We look forward to the fresh perspectives they will bring as they grow alongside us, says Ola Ulvlund, Managing Director at Hycast.
What this means for the apprentice
- Quality and mentorship: We support our apprentices throughout the entire journey with close follow-up from qualified instructors, ensuring they are a natural and integrated part of the Hycast culture.
- From local to global: While the craft is learned in Sunndalsøra, the apprentice gains insight into a value chain that spans the entire globe.
- Future-proof skills: We are building the competence needed for the Norwegian industry to continue setting the global standard for quality.
A steady course ahead
While we are always innovating, our foundation remains the same: Our people. It is the craftsmanship and the pride our employees take in their work that allow us to deliver the highest quality, year after year.
