Hycast Named Norway's Smartest Industrial Company 2024!

Hycast is proud to announce that we have been named Norway's Smartest Industrial Company 2024. The award was presented by Harald Solberg, CEO of Norsk Industri, at the Norwegian Industry Annual Conference in Oslo on May 7th.

- Being named Norway's Smartest Industrial Company is a recognition of the hard work we have put in over many years, and for all our employees who work every day, on everything from innovation to creating a finished product for our customers. Our management has prioritized research and development for a long time, and we are now seeing the results, says Arild Håkonsen, Head of Technology & Sustainability.

Innovation, profitability, and sustainability

The jury emphasized that Hycast is a role model in the development of its own technology that reduces both waste and energy consumption. A full 5 percent of turnover goes to research and technology development. This investment has not only increased productivity, but also contributed to more sustainable production methods globally through interdisciplinary collaboration and a new industry standard.

Torgeir Reve, Jury Chair & Professor Emeritus at BI Norwegian Business School, highlighted that this year's winner is a technology company that, through continuous research and development, has established itself as a leading international player in process technology.

International market – local production

The jury also highlighted how Hycast, as a spin-off from its parent company Norsk Hydro ASA, supplies competitors all over the world. With around 90 percent exports, and with China as its largest markets, Hycast demonstrates very strong international competitiveness without moving production outside of Europe. All solutions are developed in Norway, either by the company itself or in collaboration with its parent company.
